Just a solid selection for a short layover in Chicago with good value for cost. I loved the little window nook in the room where I could relax and watch the city. Make sure to book directly for the best views.

I felt welcomed, like this was my home away from home. The valet even ran to grab my forgotten coat from my car in just minutes!
It wasn't exactly a bargain, but honestly, it was still reasonable for what we got.

The hotel had all the typical Kimpton offerings, making our stay fun and intimate. We loved the free coffee in the mornings and the open-arms attitude toward our precious dog. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home.
My kids wished for a bit more communication about amenities for families.

I really enjoyed my stay, especially the comfy beds and the relaxing wine reception every evening. The pool and sauna were nice spots to unwind after a day of exploring. Just a heads up, I had to pay a little extra for early check-in, so plan accordingly! 🍷

The river view from the Essential King Room provided an excellent backdrop, especially with a cozy window seat that made lounging quite enjoyable. The hotel's artful design and modern amenities offered a comfortable experience, making it easy to unwind after a long day.
Ongoing renovations were a real damper, as the absence of a bar or restaurant hindered the overall experience, leaving me without any dining options on-site. With chilly winds filtering in through the large glass windows, comfort took a hit. Noise seeped in too easily from the street, especially with pet-friendly rooms where barking dogs disrupted the peace, not to mention the sirens echoing from outside. Additionally, the water pressure in the shower could have used some improvement. a more consistent temperature would’ve been a plus.

The Essential King Room features a spacious layout, nice bathroom amenities, and stylish decor that adds a modern vibe. Proximity to local attractions is a definite plus, making it easy to walk to restaurants and shops.
There was ongoing renovation that led to limited amenities. both the bar and restaurant were unavailable. A shower's water pressure fluctuated, and when the handle turned on, it created odd noises, which was a little distracting. I also dealt with noise from the street and nearby pets during the night, making it less peaceful than expected. The lack of clear information regarding deposit policies was annoying, along with issues ordering room service through a QR code that didn't work properly.
